Make the most of our Friendly programs!

Are you coming to the Abbey Medieval Festival this year? We have designed itineraries with you in mind to make your day as fun and easy as possible.

SATURDAY ITINERARY FOR COUPLES

Before the festival I would suggest attending The Knighting Ceremony on the eve of 7th July 2017. Time 7.30pm at The Abbey Church Caboolture.

9:30 – 10:15 Grande Parade at Castle Arena – this is a must for all visitors of the Abbey Medieval Festival, and is always full of lots of colour and pageantry.

10:15 – 10.45 History of Archery (Order of the Horse)

10.45 – 11.15  Head down to the Jousting Arena to watch the 10.45am Joust.

11.15 – 11.45  Head over to the Commons and watch the 11.15am Historical Renaissance Fencing (Prima Spada).

11.45 – 12.30  Head down to the stalls and markets and have a look around and enjoy some lunch.

12.30 – 1.00 Head over to the Village Green and watch Morris Dancing (Belswagger Morris).

1.00 – 2.00  Head over to the Oil Wrestling Pit and enjoy our 1pm Oil Wrestling (Janissary Barracks).

2.00 – 2.30  Head over to the Abbey Church and have a look around at our Stain Glass Tour.

2.30 – 3.00 Head over to the Castle Arena and enjoy the spectacular Cannon Display (Condottieri)

3.00 – 3.30  Have some afternoon tea and look around at whats doing on.

3.30 – 4.15 Head back over to The Commons and watch an epic battle of Tug Of War (New England Medieval Arts Society).

4.15 –  Enjoy the rest of your afternoon.

10.15 – 11.15  Take your time to have a look around our amazing collection in The Abbey Museum of Art of Archaeology.

11.15- 11.45  Head over to The Commons and watch the Duel of the Dance Floor (Prima Spada).

11.45 – 12.20  Head over and look at the Markets and Stalls and enjoy some lunch.

12.20 – 1.15  Head over the the Castle Arena and catch the Birds of Prey (O’Reilly’s Birds of Prey).

1.15 – 1.45  Head over to the Dark Ages Encampment Activities and enjoy the Viking Stone Carving – Techniques and Traditions (Staraya Ladoga)

1.45 – 2.15 Then head to the Foods in the Viking age activity (Saga Vikings).

2.15 – 2.45 Then head to the Wool and Fabric Dyeying Refan.

2.45 – 3.15 Head over to the 14th Century see map for group location and attend the Medieval Mead Making (Order of St Knud).

3.15 – 3.45  Head over to the 15th Century see map for group location and attend Spindle and Distaff Spinning (Company of the Phoenix).

3.45 – 4.30  Head over to the Castle Arena and watch the Finale.
