The popular Abbey Medieval Banquet, which heralds the beginning of the Abbey Medieval Festival, will be held on June 24th 2017 with a second banquet the following weekend on July 1st.
This event is always a huge favourite, famous throughout Queensland and beyond, and in sells out in a matter of weeks, so please book your tickets early. Wanting to go that little bit further in your Medieval experience? Book a Premium ticket which includes seating closest to the High Table and entertainment for the night, as well as a lovely cushioned seat and a photo at the Medieval Photo Booth!
Two Medieval Banquets for 2017!
Due to the overwhelming popularity of these events, we are excited to announce we will again host two Abbey Medieval Banquets. The first will be held on Sat 24th June 2017 and the second on the 1st July 2017. Admission to the Banquet is by pre-paid tickets (will be available in our Medieval Festival Tickets section) only. After purchasing your ticket, our staff will allocate your seating, and you will receive notification of the seats you have been given via email. Please note, your seating will not be noted on your ticket.
Authentic Medieval Foods, Culture and Entertainment on the Menu!
On this night of medieval food and medieval entertainment, you will be guided by the Steward of the Feast in the manners and customs expected of those attending such a prestigious event.
On entering the Great Hall, you will experience a traditional ritual of washing the hands with scented rosewater, and once this is completed you are directed to your seat.
The Banquet is fully licensed and wine, beers, cider and mead are available for purchase. Please note: No BYO.

What’s the difference between a General Ticket and a Premium Ticket?
A Banquet Premium seat includes seating at the front of the Hall (closest to the High Table and entertainment), a cushioned seat and a photograph at the Medieval Photo Booth.
What time should I arrive?
Doors open at 5:45 pm. We ask for all guests to be seated by 6:20 pm for the Opening Ceremony. The procession to the High Table by your hosts and Guests of Honour precedes the serving of the First Remove.
What do I get to eat?
Your meal consists of two Removes (or courses), each consisting of several dishes, and a final course called an ‘Issue’. Make sure you pace yourself as the food will be plentiful. There are vegetarian options available.
Is there parking or public transport?
There is parking close to the Great Hall and there will be signage to direct you. If you’re from interstate or overseas, you’ll find the Abbey one of the more far flung Brisbane Museums.
Do I need to dress up?
Although costuming is optional, we encourage everyone to don medieval costumes and get into the spirit of the event. From a proper lady, to a brave knight, to a saucy wench, you’ll love the colour and culture of our famous Medieval banquets.
