Reenactors love the Abbey Museum Medieval Festival

Rognvalds Lith

Rognvald Ingvarson was a member of the Jarlebanke family in Uppsala, Sweden.

He joined the Varangian guard in Constantinople, became a captain and gained riches and glory. On his returned he had a rune stone carved to commemorate his success.

In the summer of 1043 he joined his Lith, a warband, together with Prince Vladamir of the Rus to fight the Byzantium armies.
