Ticket type and prices

Tickets to the Abbey Medieval Festival Tournament Weekend are available to purchase online, and at the entry gates on the day.

Ticket information

Concession ticket

Patrons with valid pension, student, health care, and Government seniors cards are able to purchase a concession ticket. Please have the relevant card ready to present at the Festival gate.

NB the National Seniors Card does not qualify for a concession ticket.

Child ticket

The age range for a child ticket is 5 to 15 years.

Family ticket

A family ticket covers 2 adults and up to 4 children (aged 5 to 15 years).

Carer ticket

Patrons with an official Companion Card, accompanied by a Carer, pay Concession price and their Carer receives free general ticket admission. Card must be presented at the gate. Not valid for VIP or Banquet tickets.

NB Queensland Government Carers Business Discount Card does not qualify for free entry.

Abbey Museum Friends

Abbey Museum Friends can purchase tickets to the Abbey Medieval Festival Tournament Weekend at a discounted rate of 50% of the gate price. This doesn’t include VIP tickets.

To take advantage of this offer, phone the Museum Office on 07 5495 1652 to purchase tickets. Please have your membership number ready.

Event details

The Abbey Medieval Festival Tournament Weekend will be held on Saturday 13 and Sunday 14 July 2019.

Read our visitor information to plan your trip to Abbeystowe, the grounds of the Abbey Medieval Festival.

Gates for pre-paid and VIP ticket holders open at 8:30am on Saturday and Sunday.

Gates open at 9:00am for patrons purchasing tickets on the day of the event.

Market stalls are open and encampments are on display from when the gates open. The festival program starts with the Opening Ceremony at 9:30 at the Castle Arena, entertainment at the other performing venues will start after the ceremony.

The Abbey Medieval Festival closes at 4:30pm each day.

History, entertainment, food and more

With a marketplace with food, wares and craft demonstrations, 2 taverns, 8 entertainment venues, over 40 re-enactment encampments, the Abbey Medieval Festival has something for everyone.

Jousting

The Joust is 1 of the 5 tournaments of the Abbey Medieval Festival Tournament Weekend. The joust is run 3 times each day; and access is included with your festival ticket.

Patrons who purchase tickets online can book 1 joust. If you aren’t sure when you want to see a joust when you’re booking your tickets, or you would like to see more than 1, never fear, you can pick up tokens for other jousting sessions during the event.

The Abbey Marketplace

Did you know that our food vendors follow our mission for historical accuracy and only sell food that would have been available during the middle ages? This level of detail just adds to the experience of the Abbey Medieval Festival.
