Without a doubt the Joust is the most popular event of the weekend by all who attend the festival and this year we have simplified things by including your the ticket to the festival entry ticket, so you don’t have to pre-book your tickets!  The joust arena has more than 2000 seats,  and these will be managed on a ‘first-come first-in’ basis.  Once the arena reaches capacity, that joust will close to comply with health and safety obligations.  However, there are four jousting events on Saturday and three on Sunday,  to facilitate everyone who wishes to see the jousters,  their horses and the tournament.

Saturday Joust

12:15pm Entry to the 12:15pm joust session includes a Viking shield wall presentation by Saga Vikings – you have to see it to believe it! Be there at 11.30am.
1:45pm Entry to the 1:45pm joust session includes a very special pre-show performance showcasing medieval equestrian skill including horse sword-fighting and practice for war as it might have been in a typical 12-13 century Crusader village.  ‘Steeds and Steel: a story of the Crusades’ by Order of the Horse and The Knights Templar starts at 1.00pm.
