The Joust Tournament
Beyond a doubt, the joust is the most popular activity of the Abbey Medieval Festival. Thousands of visitors come from near and far to experience the thrill of the joust. Read all about how the joust tournament works and the point system behind it in our blog.
This year we have streamlined ticketing, so your joust ticket is now included with your general entry ticket. And…. if you’d like to see a second (or a third, or a fourth….!) joust – IT’s FREE! (We do request that for second or subsequent jousts, you ask for a pass to present on entry -available at joust gate – and that way we know the arena not overfull). The arena will work on a first-come first-in basis. Once the arena is filled to capacity (2,000 pax), that joust will close. But don’t worry, there are seven jousts planned for the weekend.
