Are you coming to the Abbey Medieval Festival this year with kids aged 6 – 12? We have designed itineraries with your kids in mind to make your day as fun and easy as possible.

SATURDAY ITINERARY FOR 6-12 YEAR OLDS

If you’re coming on the Saturday and you or your kids love to watch medieval demonstrations, get hands on and learn some Fingerloop braiding, or participate in archery, this is what our Medieval Mummas recommend!

9:30 – 10:15 Grande Parade at Castle Arena – this is a must for all visitors of the Abbey Medieval Festival, and is always full of lots of colour and pageantry.

10:30 -11:00 – Learn how to do Fingerloop Braiding with the Companie of Knights Bachelor camp

11:00 – 11:30 Learn how to Medieval Dance at the University Tent with the Company of the Phoenix.

11:30 – 12:00 –  The Birds of Prey show is exciting, fun and informative.

12:00 – 12:45 –  Grab some lunch and watch the Jousting in the Joust Arena!

1:00 – 1:30 – Gypsie Amulet Pouch making workshop with the Shuvani Gypsies

1:30–2:30 – Explore all the different Medieval Encampments, and the village markets, and grab some yummy afternoon tea!

2:30 – 3:15 –Strength and Skill competition in the Jousting Arena!

3:15 – 4:00 – Locate the Archery area and try your hand at this tricky sport!

SUNDAY ITINEARY FOR 6-12 YEAR OLDS

If you’re coming on the Sunday or you or your kids enjoy jousting, medieval cannons, participating in Viking games, and watching dog training demos, this is what our Medieval Mummas recommend!

9:30 – 10:15 – Even if you watched it yesterday, catch the Grande Parade again today!

10:15 -10:45 Watch the Abbey Medieval Festival House Troupe

11.00 – 11.30 Fun for kids of all ages, join in the Viking Games at the Village Green.

11:30 – 12:00 – “Choose Your Champion”, an interactive crowd display at Prima Spada, School of Fence.

12:15 – 12:45 – Joust time! Grab some lunch and eat while your watching

1:00 – 1:30 – Dog training at The Commons (and not just “sit” and “stay”)

1:30 – 2:15 – Heroes of the Varangian Guard,  NVG Jorth Gar at The Commons, or perhaps youd  like to catch another Joust at 1:45?

2:15 – 2:45 Historia Germanica Cannon!

2:45 – 3:15 – ‘So you think you can Medieval Dance’ with Company of the Phoenix in the Castle Arena.

3:15 Spend the afternoon exploring all the Festival has to offer, the markets, the Encampments, maybe do some Archery and grab some delicious afternoon tea (churros anyone?)
