The authentic 14th century knighting ceremony, presented by the Companie Draco Routiers, will be performed in the candlelit Abbey Church with its magnificent medieval stained glass windows. This intimate event is a unique experience.

During the Middle Ages, it was common practice for knighting ceremonies to take place on the eve of a tournament, battle, or joust. The Abbey Medieval Festival honours this tradition by hosting this knighting ceremony on Friday evening at 6.30 pm, 2 July, before Tournament weekend.

Although it is free to attend the Knighting Ceremony, due to limited seating in the Abbey Church bookings will be required.  Tickets will be available shortly.
